About 'u of t gift shop'|...C-130s, helicopters and other aircraft from a total of 250 that the base houses. If our troops aren’t up for the rather lavish dinners served by...








The               Yoga               Cafe               is               a               yoga               studio               in               Greensboro,               North               Carolina.

The               name               can               be               confusing,               but               they               don't               serve               food,               just               tea.

They're               located               across               the               street               from               Guilford               College,               next               to               Quaker               Village,               at               711               Milner               Drive,               in               a               small               building               that               is               part               brick               and               part               yellow               siding.

It               looks               cheerful,               warm,               and               inviting               form               the               outside,               and               the               inside               gets               even               better.

As               soon               as               you               walk               in,               you'll               notice               the               subtle               but               sweet               smells               that               seem               to               change               from               room               to               room,               the               inviting               colors               of               soft               orange,               light               purple,               and               warm               yellow,               and               the               quiet               music               playing.
               When               you               first               walk               in,               you're               in               a               small               area               that               consists               of               a               bulletin               board               filled               with               papers               announcing               events               and               services,               such               as               meditation               groups,               various               training               courses,               available               housekeepers               and               landscapers.

There               are               two               tables               below               the               bulletin               board               filled               with               business               cards               and               pamphlets               for               small               local               businesses               and               independent               contractors,               such               as               acupuncture               therapists.
               Both               the               bulletin               board               and               table               are               completely               open               to               the               public,               so               if               you               have               information               you               want               to               post,               you               can               do               it               at               Yoga               Cafe.

Many               people,               when               entering               or               leaving               the               Yoga               Cafe,               stop               for               a               few               minutes               to               peruse               the               business               cards               and               bulletin               board.

Against               the               other               wall               are               a               variety               of               free               magazines               and               newspapers,               such               as               Natural               Triad,               Yes!

Weekly,               and               The               Art               of               Wellbeing.
               Past               that               first               area               is               the               lobby,               which               consists               of               a               large,               comfortable               couch               next               to               a               table               filled               with               yoga               and               massage               magazines,               a               tea               bar,               and               the               front               desk.

The               tea               bar               has               a               few               different               brands               of               tea,               mainly               Yogi               Tea               and               Celestial               Seasonings               in               all               different               flavors,               but               also               has               a               brand               called               Artisan's               Cup               which               is               a               local               loose               leaf               tea               in               a               few               yummy               flavors.
               Any               tea               can               be               bought               by               the               cup               or               pot,               or               you               can               buy               it               by               the               box               (or               in               the               case               of               Artisan's               Cup,               the               bag).

If               you               want               to               sit               down               and               enjoy               a               pot               or               cup               of               tea,               there               is               a               room               to               the               left               of               the               entrance               that               contains               four               tables               with               chairs               and               another               large               couch.
               That               room               also               contains               most               of               the               gift               shop               items               for               sale               at               the               Yoga               Cafe.

Among               items               for               sale               are               yoga               clothes,               books,               CDs,               mats,               mat               bags,               and               props,               candles               and               incense,               jewelry               and               decorations,               tea               accessories,               stones,               sarongs,               and               greeting               cards.

In               the               lobby,               there               is               also               a               display               rack               featuring               essential               oils               that               are               for               sale,               along               with               base               oils               for               mixing,               a               natural               bug               repellent,               and               a               few               devices               used               to               release               the               scent               of               an               essential               oil               throughout               a               room               or               car.
               If               you               head               to               the               front               desk,               you'll               find,               in               addition               to               friendly               workers               who               are               ready               to               assist               you,               pamphlets               and               flyers               explaining               the               services               offered.

There               are               copies               of               the               yoga               schedule               which               gives               the               names,               dates,               times,               and               teachers               of               the               various               classes,               a               massage               therapy               pamphlet               that               elaborates               on               different               massage               services,               a               flyer               explaining               the               Ion               Cleanse,               which               is               a               detoxifying               footbath,               and               a               pamphlet               that               gives               a               general               overview               of               all               the               services               provided.
               Yoga               classes               are               available               Monday               through               Saturday.

You               don't               need               to               call               to               sign               up;               you               can               just               "drop               in"               on               a               class               and               pay               the               drop-in               fee               ($14               adults,               $9               students,               $12.60               for               seniors               over               60).

If               it's               your               first               time,               come               a               few               minutes               early               (5-10)               because               there's               a               little               bit               of               paperwork               you'll               need               to               fill               out.

You               can               also               buy               a               yoga               package,               which               means               you               buy               classes               in               groups               of               5,               10,               24,               or               36.

The               cost               per               class               gets               cheaper               the               larger               the               package.

5               classes               are               $60               ($12/class),               10               classes               are               $110               ($11/class),               24               classes               are               $216               ($9/class)               and               36               classes               are               $252               ($7/class).
               The               student               package               is               10               classes               for               $85               ($8.50/class).

Student               prices               apply               to               high               school,               college,               grad               school,               and               adult               students.

If               you               buy               a               package,               you               can               go               to               as               many               or               as               little               classes               a               week               as               you'd               like.

There               are               no               real               rules               as               to               how               to               use               your               yoga               package;               they               do               expire               after               a               certain               time,               depending               on               the               size               of               the               package,               but               these               rules               aren't               strictly               enforced               and               exceptions               can               always               be               made               if               you               talk               to               the               owner               (Judi               Rossabi).

You               can               rent               a               yoga               mat               for               $1               or               buy               one               (they               cost               about               $25               to               $35               depending               on               the               size               and               type)               in               the               gift               shop.

If               you               buy               one,               you               get               a               free               class.
               There               is               a               beginner               yoga               series               offered               twice               a               week               for               students               who               have               never               done               yoga.

It's               a               good               idea               to               get               into               this               one               at               the               beginning               of               a               session               (session               dates               are               on               the               yoga               schedule               and               online),               but               not               necessary.

For               those               who               know               a               little               bit               of               yoga,               Yoga               Foundations               and               Yoga               Foundations               I&II               are               good.

For               those               who               need               to               work               at               a               slow,               careful               pace,               Gentle               Yoga               is               offered.

For               those               looking               for               something               a               little               more               challenging,               Anusara               is               available.
               And               for               those               looking               for               a               bit               of               a               cardio               workout,               Flow               Yoga               for               Wellness               and               Weightloss               is               excellent               (but               not               recommended               for               someone               who               has               never               done               yoga               before).

And               Monday               night               is               college               night,               which               means               that               if               you're               a               student               (undergraduate,               graduate,               or               high               school,               it               doesn't               matter),               you               can               drop               into               the               flow               class               for               $5.

Pilates               has               been               offered               in               the               past               and               will               be               offered               again               in               the               future;               the               same               rules               and               pricings               apply.
               In               addition               to               yoga,               tai               chi               is               also               available.

This               you               have               to               sign               up               for               before               the               session               starts               and               buy               a               package               for               (5               classes               for               $60).

Usually,               Beginner               Tai               Chi,               Intermediate               Tai               Chi,               and               Advanced               Tai               Chi               are               offered               (sometimes               along               with               a               specialty               class)               but               each               class               must               have               enough               students               signed               up               to               proceed,               so               during               some               sessions,               only               one               or               two               of               these               are               offered.
               As               for               massage               therapy,               there               are               many               different               kinds               available,               such               as               reiki,               which               is               energy               work               that               involves               light               touch               techniques,               reflexology,               which               focuses               only               on               the               hands               and               feet,               hot               stone               massage,               which               is               great               during               winter               and               involves               placing               hot               stones               on               the               client's               body               throughout               the               massage,               and               thai               yoga               massage,               where               the               therapist               moves               the               client's               body               in               different               ways,               stretching               them               and               simulating               yoga               poses.

A               standard               massage               (swedish               or               deep               tissue)               costs               $70               for               an               hour,               $95               for               90               minutes,               and               $40               for               a               half               hour.
               Reflexology               and               Reiki               cost               $60               an               hour,               $30               a               half               hour.

A               hot               stone               massage               costs               $90               per               hour,               $125               for               90               minutes,               and               a               thai               yoga               massage               cost               $85               per               hour.

You               can               also               buy               massage               packages               and               save               a               little               money.

It's               best               to               schedule               at               least               a               day               in               advance,               but               same               day               appointments               can               often               be               accommodated.

More               than               an               hour's               notice               is               necessary,               though.
               All               the               massage               therapists               are               licensed               and               certified.

The               rooms               are               comfortable,               painted               as               colorfully               as               the               rest               of               the               building               and               furnished               with               soft               warm               light               and               simple               decorations.

Music               will               be               played               during               the               massage               (unless               you'd               prefer               not),               and               high               quality,               natural               lotions,               massage               oils,               and               aromatherapy               oils               are               used               (and               these               can               all               be               tailored               to               your               specific               needs).
               The               detoxifying               footbath               that               is               offered               is               called               an               Ion               Cleanse               and               needs               to               be               scheduled               like               a               massage               appointment.

You'll               be               put               in               a               comfortable               room,               where               you               will               sit               down               and               put               your               feet               in               warm               water.

An               array               is               placed               in               the               water               that               creates               negative               ions               and               pulls               toxins               out               through               your               feet.

It               will               take               30               minutes               and               you'll               have               reading               material               nearby.

Many               people               report               feeling               lighter               after               the               footbath.
               In               addition               to               the               basic               services,               special               events               often               take               place               at               the               Yoga               Cafe.

There               have               been               concerts,               meditation               groups,               and               plays.

There               have               also               been               various               weekend               courses               on               subjects               like               reiki,               huna,               and               self-improvement.

               The               Yoga               Cafe               has               various               specials               going               on               at               any               given               time.

For               instance,               Fridays               are               called               "Spa               Fridays"               as               all               spa               services               (the               detoxifying               footbath               and               all               massage               services)               are               10%               off.

There               is               also               a               referral               program               going               on               now               where               you               get               special               offers               and               discounts               when               you               refer               a               massage               client               or               yoga               student.

In               addition,               currently               when               you               buy               a               yoga               package,               you               get               special               discounts               and               offers               on               yoga               and               massage               therapy.
               The               Yoga               Cafe               is               open               Monday               through               Thursday               from               9am               to               9pm               and               Friday               and               Saturday               9am               to               5pm               (but               exceptions               can               be               made               for               late               massages!).

Also,               one               therapist               is               available               for               Sunday               massages.
